Cianjur – Wakapolri Komjen Pol. Prof. Dr. H. Dedi Prasetyo, M.Hum., M.Si., M.M bagikan 1.000 paket bantuan sosial untuk para petani dan masyarakat di kaki Gunung Gede Pangrango tepatnya di Kampung Maleber, Desa Ciherang, Kecamatan Pacet, Kabupaten Cianjur.
Bantuan sosial yang dibagikan utamanya pada petani yang menjalankan program tanam serentak bawang putih itu berisikan sembako untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan.
Wakapolri Komjen Pol. Prof. Dr. H. Dedi Prasetyo, M.Hum., M.Si., M.M, mangatakan bantuan tersebut diharapkan dapat meringankan dan membantu para petani selama masa tanam bawang putih.
“Semoga bantuan ini bisa membantu para petani. Dengan kebutuhan yang tercukupi dapat fokus pada bertani bawang putih, sehingga hasil panennya dapat melimpah,” kata dia, Rabu (19/8/2026).
Dia juga mengaku bahagia dapat memberi bantuan pada para petani. “Melihat raut bahagia dari petani dan masyarakat, tentu jadi kebagian tersendiri bagi kami. Dan juga membuktikan Polri terus hadir di tengah masyarakat,” kata dia.
Di sisi lain, Wakapolri menyebut jika Cianjur menjadi salah satu dari 14 daerah di Jawa Barat yang dipilih untuk menjalankan program tanam serentak bawang putih untuk mewujudkan swasembada bawang putih di Indonesia.
Menurut dia, lahan yang digunakan ialah dari PTPN, Dinas Pertanian, dan Gapoktan. Di tahap awal, total ada 44,58 hektare lahan yang sudah siap tanam.
“Luasan lahan ini akan terus berkembang secara bertahap,” kata dia.
Dia menjelaskan, dalam empat bulan ke depan, dari tanam serentak tersebut akan menghasilkan panen seliter lebih kurang 450 ton bawang putih.
“Jumlah produksinya juga akan bertambah seiring penambahan lahan. Hingga target swasembada bawang putih terwujud,” kata dia.
